What is a Fact?

Cambridge Dictionary:

something that is known to have happened or to exist, especially something for which proof exists, or about which there is information.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

1a: something that has actual existence
1b: an actual occurrence
2: a piece of information presented as having objective reality
3: the quality of being actual : ACTUALITY
4: a thing done, as in a crime, action, feat.

My words:

A fact is something proven, inherently or expressly. It is empirically studied and accepted by the overwhelming majority of experts associated with the subject matter. It is not to be confused with opinion or perspective, nor subjected interpretation. It is known, irrefutable, and possesses evidence-based support.
